for roo, who feeds himself whole green beans now, from a can---sucking their gray-green, waterlogged flabbiness from his little fists with slurpy relish, mashing them with exaggerated, effortful chewing motions, then spitting most of it what he's "eaten" back onto the table. is it disgusting? yes. but it's also a total joy to watch.
