for the news that audra's company has decided, at long last, to insure the partners and spouses of their LGBT employees. 

(actually, it's a little more complicated than that: i agree, on principle, that they should. but this lesbian household has been hoping the day would never come, for personal reasons: i have cerebral palsy and epilepsy, conditions that make having high-quality health insurance a must. that audra's company---with its deductible-so-high-it's-practically-like-not-having-any-insurance-at-all insurance---refused to cover me was a blessing, as it meant that i had access to our state's subsidized, comprehensive coverage. now i won't anymore, and i'm not sure what that means. my feelings are mixed: hooray! and also: fuck.)
