for these photos of unitarian universalists participating in the 1963 march on washington, which make me glad to be part of a denomination committed, past and present, to fighting for social, economic, and racial justice, and for these from saturday's march, which make me conscious of how much work there is still to be done.

for roo, who (after refusing both solid food and pain relief for several days, preferring to gnaw crankily on his teething bird all day and nurse all night) has finally cut his two bottom teeth and has since regained his appetite and cheerful disposition. (may he also, by the grace of whatever is holy and good, sleep better than he has been.)
